Here at Nor-Cal Charters, our guides believe in sustainable, enjoyable fishing to provide the community and vacationers with experiences and stories to last a lifetime. We select equipment and hire qualified staff with the goal of creating the best Lake Tahoe charter experience. Whether you are an experienced salty dog looking to get on some fish, or a fist timer wanting to learn about fishing, we are the company for you.

Commodore Maverick

Maverick, a Tahoe native, is one of Nor-Cal Charters founding members. He eats, sleeps, and drinks fishing and has been voted Tahoe’s best fishing dog 4 years running. His favorite food is anything left on the boats, and he enjoys back country dog sledding.

Commador Maverick

Maverick, a Tahoe native, is one of Nor-Cal Charters founding members. He eats, sleeps, and drinks fishing and has been voted South Lake Tahoe’s best fishing dog 4 years running. His favorite food is anything left on the boats, and he enjoys back-country dog sledding.

Captain Andrew Lubrano

Andrew Lubrano has been captaining for 10 years and has 15 years of commercial Tahoe charter fishing experience. His favorite fishing is albacore tuna out of Half Moon Bay and Kokanee salmon fishing on Lake Tahoe. He loves this job because of the people and the addictive qualities of competing with other charter boats on Lake Tahoe. He holds an AA in business from Lake Tahoe Community College, BA in Finance and Economics from Sierra Nevada College and a Master’s in Education form Sierra Nevada University. Andrew is also a Nevada Master Guide for over five years and holds a 50-ton Captains License from the United States Coast Guard.

Captain Tim

Captain Tim has over 25 years of experience fishing Lake Tahoe. The biggest fish Captain Tim has ever landed was a 20lbs Mackinaw he caught himself. He does this job because he enjoys teaching people about the lake and our boats. Tim’s favorite beer is Budweiser and he enjoys every part of the job except having to clean up after commodore Maverick. His favorite areas to fish are near South Lake Tahoe.

Kelsey

Deckhand Kelsey has been working the decks of our boats for over five years. She enjoys watching people have fun and the sunrises. Loved by customers and feared by fish, Kelsey will be sure you have a great time omn your charter.

CAPTAIN ANDREW H.

A passionate fishing charter guide on Lake Tahoe who combines his love for fishing with a dedication to creating unforgettable experiences for his customers. With years of expertise fishing on our boats near Zephyr Cove and South Lake Tahoe. Andrew knows the best spots to reel in trophy fish like Mackinaw, Rainbow Trout, and Kokanee Salmon. His friendly personality and enthusiasm for the sport make every trip fun, whether you’re a seasoned angler or a first-timer. He likes working on Tahoe’s best fishing boats. Andrew’s goal is simple: to share his love for fishing and ensure everyone leaves with great memories—and hopefully, a great catch!

We are in Tahoe for Thanksgiving week and decided last minute to book a four hour fishing charter for 8 of us (4 adults, 2 teens and 2 kids). We are SO glad we found Nor-Cal Charters as we had such an amazing trip! Andrew and Tim were incredible guides with great personalities. The fishing was good and they were so attentive and patient with our 7-year-old. The boat was very nice, spacious and clean. A great experience fishing on Lake Tahoe! Captain Andrew took us to where the fish were biting and we all caught fish immediately – two of us had never fished and Andrew explained everything perfectly. Andrew is very skilled, knows how to run a boat very well, and taught us how to bait a hook, watch for line bites, reel in a fish, and net it. Thank you, Captain Andrew, for a fun and memorable morning of catching salmon! We grilled some of them up that night! Delicious!

Went out with captain Andrew for the second time. The trip was amazing, as expected. He put my dad and I pn 6 nice size mackinaw! He actually put us on more, but that’s what we took home. Always recommend nor cal charters and captain Andrew. The boat is nice and big also, and has an i side cabin area and restroom.
